Gluing system for Domino

I'm an amateur woodworker so the Glue-Bot or the 16oz Titebond bottle or even a Wal-mart $1.39 condiment bottle all work for me depending what I feel like using.  If I were doing it for profit I would definitely consider that Pizzi set-up.

I do it for a living & this works fine for me.

This is my gluing system for Dominos.

Oh, yeah -- I forgot that approach & I actually do like that some times as well.  I guess I just haven't settled in on my favorite yet.  I've tried using flux brushes and sponge brushes (both work fine except spreading into the Domino mortises) -- what type of "brush" is that in your picture?  Is it a "throw away"?

Ahh...USB gluer!

When I saw jrflyboys picture I asked myself "what kind of an USB gadget is that"  [eek]
After reading the thread I realize we are talking about an USB gluer!  [big grin]

Sorry...couldn't help it. Have a nice weekend!

The brush is a cheep hobby brush. It has synthetic bristles. The thing I like about these brushes is that the bristles deform into a ball around the handle.
It works very well for dowels & Dominos. After I am done gluing, I fill the bowl up with water & let the brush soak in it. I rinse it out the next time I need it.

I got the ones Kevin has shown on his post.  Bought mine at Woodcraft.  Probably the same stuff.  I think it was a FastCap product.

I saw that at the NEC on  Monday!    I didnt want to ask any questions about it as I probably would of bought it and its alot of money!

JMB
I saw it there too and would have bought it there and then but Brother in Law wanted his lunch.
So I hope I've snagged one off the internet yesterday from Data Power Tools in Wales.  They were selling it off cheap as they no longer stock them.  I hope its all there as I'm a long way from Wales!!  List price is about £350 ex vat.  I know its a lot of money for a gluepot, but I think I am a bit like JMB.
Now all I need is one of those Domino heads!!

Who'd of thought you could catch something like that over the web? ;D

I have to say that the more I use the Pizzi for gluing, the more I like it.  I get less squeeze-out since the glue stays in the hole and doesn't come off the domino when inserting a domino with glue brushed on it into the hole.  I've also found that the other tips like the roller, dowel, etc all work great.

When we at cabinet class, Rick just squirted some glue on a sheet of paper and dabbed the dominos in it.  A little messy, but it worked.  We also had some of those plastic spreaders to use, which I liked.

I'm beginning to wonder if I made a mistake buying the lamello glue pot instead of the Pizzi cos I can't find a domino applicator. I think I might try to get a Pizzi domino applicator and fit it to the lamello.  Any idea how much the domino head costs and what size dominoes it can work with

I was at AWFS and spoke with Gregg (owner) from Rangate.  They have Domino heads for each size and I believe they ranged from $180-220 or so for each head.  Gregg is awesome and answers emails around the clock, fantastic service....joe
