No good way to really say it but going in for surgery on Monday to have a testicle tumor removed. They think it's cancer but tell biopsied I won't know forsure. Will have 2 to maybe 6 weeks off from cabinet installing to let my body heal from surgery. Hopefully if it is cancer I caught it early enough it hasn't spread and will not require additional surgery or treatments. I found a lump and within 2 weeks of finding will be removed so thankfully they are moving quickly about it, so will probably be spending lots of time reading the fog [big grin] with all the spare time I will have.

Darn, glad you noticed it early!. Hope it will go fine with no problems. The FOG is here to support you!

Looks like you've got at least 1 of what them nuts are good for, so you'll still have enough power left to make more little "Sparky's" if you want to!  Sounds like you got it taken care of quick, your odds are good!!  Best of luck to ya [smile]

Chemotherapy is almost 100% successful for the most common type of testicular cancer.  Hope your prognosis is good.  My day job is a Family Practice doc.  Good Luck

Thanks everyone. I already have 2 kids the nuts did what was required. I am getting a vasectomy on the other side while I'm having the other  removed :-)

Sparky, good luck.  If a guy has to get cancer then testicular cancer is the one to get - especially if it is detected early.  The surgery is usually low risk and leaves a scar a couple of inches below your belly button.  Any pain is handled with medication.  I walked a half mile about 4 hours after surgery.

Each situation is different but I wouldn't be surprised if you end up also going thru chemo to make sure that there isn't anything floating around.  The chemo treatments are highly effective and there are several different types.

I am 7.5 months post chemo completion and even with my extreme case and spread I remain cancer free and feeling better than ever.

If you want to talk, feel free to send me a PM.

Good luck, I know what a scare it can be being given the news, fortunately in my case it was benign but until they actually proved it it was treated as cancerous.

Hopefully, all will be well and as they have caught it early it should be easier to deal with.

On another note to other readers of this thread, when you read/hear about this, do you have a quick fondle to reassure yourselves?

Here's hoping that the procedure is as painless as can be, that the recovery is as quick as can be, and that they caught it early enough; it sounds like they did.

[size=13pt]I am now in the + 90% survival category following Melanoma surgery in 2013.  I look forward to  hearing similar news from you in 2-3 years time.

One of the few plus sides (apart from survival) is that I decided that, yes indeed, life is too short. Consequently I shortened my Festool purchasing timeline. [smile]

Best wishes.
