The first time I came very close to melting a hole in my hose [scared] after I got the hang of melting it and not the hose it would hold on the the ribbing on the hose itself bit not the wrap. So I too resorted to electrical tape and it has be fine since.
sorry to hear your frustrations, it's defenitly a valid complaint. Been discussed many times on fog before. I generally reposition and manipulate hose and/or vac prior to each cut to try and avoid possible snags. Doesn't always work but I'm getting much better at predicting the hoses behavior.tonylumps said:The edge of the work table is not the problem. I have the hose hanging from a laser pole to keep it out of the way. It still snags on the track even with the hose guard. The worst part is when it catches onto the sheet I am trying cut and it snags and I have to stop the cut. I am using a Fein Turbo so getting the Festool vac set up is out of the question.
I have been using a Fein 36 MM but I ordered a festool 27 mm. Maybe that would work better with the SleeveGuilliaume woodworks said:sorry to hear your frustrations, it's defenitly a valid complaint. What size hose are you using? 27mm? I've heard guys say Ridgid makes a more flexible hose but not sure it help snag factor. Perhaps it's time for a home made fein vac boom arm. Can't say I've heard of anyone doing one yet. Might be as simple as your laser pole with bungee cord or something.
