Fair enough. I can learn to live without the square ones. But I would use the 4" driver bit for the Torx 10.

It's not that we're ignoring the request, it's that Festool is a German/European company and square drive just doesn't exist there. Christian even posted about the matter not too long ago.

They are (again) wise.  The Torx bits last many times longer than square drive bits and the few $$ added cost in screws for high quality cabinets, etc. are justifiable.  If using Festools the builds probably aren't box store quality.  [wink]  Of course very high quality furniture makers stick with slotted screws when building.  [sad]

I've heard that excuse for years, so why did Festool introduce the Imperial drill set?  Is this what you call German humor?  Give a taste of Americanized Festool, but not enough to completely satisfy our tastes?  [tongue]

Boy, it would be great to have the T15 impact driver debut with a limited edition set of square drives,  [big grin]

I ordered some t10 bits to go with my centrotec set as well as replacement pilot bits for the countersink bit.

Square drives would be cool but I just use the mcfeeleys square bits as I use their screws mainly.

I'm with Dave.  Those hardened square drive bits from mcfeelys last forever.  I have one in my drill that is at least a year and a half old and it still doesn't slip wjen driving a square drive screw

well it ain't an american set without square drives...... i am also a mcfeelys user i guess shane after you left they stopped sending out the bag of peanuts to their favorite customers at christmas.... i guess when you left the nuts went too !!!!  lol  that was funny...

I went saturday to woodcraft in charlotte to pick this set up, but they did not have any in stock... so I am going to highland hardware or order on line tomorrow.

As stated above, how does the quality of these compare against the likes of WEra etc?  Are these all made in Germany?

Lastly, does this sytainer lock onto that of a CXS?

they're both t-locs so ya they go together. As far as what screws are better, I won't enter that debate. In film 99.9% of screws used are robertson (in canada) so phillips and torx are almost useless to me. Sure Torx would be great and I'm all for it tell that to the industry not me.

Jim used to send nuts to the nuts. Now that was funny.

It's not the small company it used to be. With that comes change. That's just one of many. Plus, they were Virginia peanuts and McFeelys was moved to Wisconsin. Maybe you can get them to send you some cheese since you're the cheesiest.  [poke]

Edit: Just to be clear, Kreg's a good guy and I've met him in person several times. This is all in jest and should be taken as such.

I am with this thread from the beginning. Why are you guys so focused on the Robertson bits in a CentroTec version. In Europe, where this Set is available without being a promotion or LE, we do face the same situation. The widespread Würth Assy/PIAS screws or the SPAX T-Plus screws do require also a special bit for convenient use. And what do you guess, yes, there are non of these bits for the CentroTec connection interface, these special bit are only available as standard 1/4 bit. As mentioned in this thread before, Festool is a German based company with HQ not far away from the Würth guys. 

Sometimes I believe some of the guys in Wendlingen have these special bit for their own private use [tongue], but they don't share the pleasure with us.  [mad]

I bought one of the sets several years ago, I use it, but not a ton.  I am glad I bought it when I did because it was a heck of a lot less expensive then the new set.  There are several of the tips I don't use, but it is nice to have the assortment when something does come up.

It was $50 cheaper, but had a lot less stuff.  [wink] This set is significantly less expensive than buying its components separately, 42% less if I remember correctly.

I can't, but fortunately the hex shank is somewhat standardized, and it doesn't need a Festool logo to fit the bit holder...

I had an opportunity to use the hand-driver and small slotted bit today -- this bit is the perfect size for handling the small screws on outlet cover plates -- fits the screw perfectly and clears the inside of the hole so no risk of damaging the cover plate or the screw.  The hand driver is really nice.  The bit to turn other drills into Centrotec drills is also going to be a welcome addition so that I can use my Hilti with my new drills and drivers...

I am glad I got off the fence and got this set -- I think it is going to be really useful and I might just find a need for the hook driver at some point...

Got My T-15 and installer set today and I have got to say these are industrial works of art. Nice Job festool, Love having nice tools to help get though the day.
What a nice feeling to have everything needed organized in one place to handle all the daily tasks.
Little things like the screw drive will make my life so much better since I seems to never have the one I need.
After playing around with the set and adding my pocket screw Jig and drill bit, there are only a couple things I would have like or need added.
1. I added a square drive (this is a must!) , would have been great to have a CentroTec though.
2. Should have also been an allen for the drill/counter sink. Never mind, thanks Scott!

Lift up the brad point bits -- the allen key is tucked underneath it.

So I ordered a CentroTec set from Bob and it's sitting on my desk in my office in Denver, and I'm sitting in a hotel room in Sydney (Western Australia, not Nebraska) wondering what it looks like.  Thank you for the photos, I'll just have to wait another week before I get home, but hey, Bali on Monday!  Unfortunately it's all work related travel.  [embarassed]
