Well, after a while of “should I or shouldn’t I” and trying to justify the expense, I just bit the bullet and got the Domino Emerald set. A friend of mine said his Domino was one of his favorite tools so I’ve been really thinking hard about it for a bit.
It just came yesterday so I haven’t had a chance to try it out yet but I have a few projects over the winter that I am definitely going to give it a shot on. I’ve been using a PC mortising machine which works pretty good but since I don’t have a permanent home for it in the shop I have to move it around often and it is a heavy piece of machinery to shuffle around my little workshop.
The Emerald set comes with additional cutters which saves a bit of cash and I picked up dominos in each of the cutter sizes with another emerald sys2 that I am going to build some dividers in and make the domino accessory box.
Looking forward to trying this one out, it’s been on the wish list for a while. I’ll post a review once I’ve had some time working with it. Maybe I’ll do a little compare to the mortising machine and biscuit joiner I have used on other projects. We’ll see how ambitious I feel LOL.
It’s going to be a fun set of winter projects. First up in the new year are kitchen cabinet doors...
