Finally picked it up today.  Had been using a shop vac with my ETS EC 125 and it did fine but jumped around a bit (no air regulating).  Also felt like I needed both hands to control it easily.  Using the CT26 today was very nice.  Overall everything felt lighter.  My wife was even impressed.  I switched the air flow from low to high and it really didn't cause an issue but I will leave it on low for sanding.  Also got a D36 for the TS55 but didn't get a chance to try it.  Pretty sure I am gonna love it though.

Congratulations !! I used my CT36 for the first time yesterday, smiling just like you. Also ordered some close out abrasives at 1/2 off at beaver industrial/Festool online.

Anyone need something sanded!!

The feature I like best is that they are relatively quiet.

With my old shop vac, I refused to turn it on without first putting on hearing protection.    With the Festool Vac, not only do I not need the hearing protection, if I need to take a couple of minutes to make an adjustment to my set-up, I normally don't bother to walk over and turn off the vac.

Get the blutooth if your model supports,  you will never want a vac without it again.  Now you have a quiet vac and you will turn it off all the time too.

Actually ordered the BT module today.  Didn't really see the need for it until I watched some videos drilling holes (with cordless drill) for MFT tables.  The light in my head came on..."Thats where you need the blue tooth."

I'm still not sold on the Bluetooth batteries being a great idea, but the Bluetooth remotes are like a divine revelation. I bought the upgrade kit for my CT, used it for a day and then went down to my local Woodcraft and cleaned them out of standalone remotes to put one on every hose I have. [big grin]

The D36 hose on the TS55 will add a bit better suction. Biggest improvement is that the D36 hose end doesn't get blocked as easily. But with the TS55 it's rarely an issue. For the planers (eg EHL65) the D36 hose is a must-have.

Thats part of the question of the day.  I am just realizing that the power cords differ between the ETS EC 125 and the TS 55.  I realize I can use the D27 on the saw but was hoping to use the bigger hose.  But I am thinking about a boom arm and I guess its not designed to hold two different sets of cords/hoses.  More thinking to do..

Only in 110V area are there different Plug It cords. Can you not simply always use the thicker one? Not sure. In 230V land all Plug It cords are the same. Double the voltage... half the current.

Sure, that is the valid option but I am having trouble with the power cord on the TS55.  The way its positioned (not much space under the connector) makes it hard for me to get it on and off easily.  Its either arthritis or hand strength, not sure.  But I don't want to take it off and on a lot so still figuring out what I need to do, boom arm wise..

Perhaps you should consider going with Bluetooth to operate the vacuum.

That way you can have a separate 20a receptacle at the bench to plug the tools into and the "switching" would be via the remote for all of them - regardless of brand.

The separate circuit would also ensure your tools get the most current should they need it.

Thank you.  Thats a very interesting idea.  I just bought the BT module for the CT26 but hadn't considered your suggestion.  I am trying to finish my bench now and where I want to put it.  I also only have 1 15a circuit in the garage.  I am getting a sub-panel added to add a few more 20a circuits.  This idea is sounding better all the time.  Thank you again xedos.
