Granat and stearates

I'm planning how to finish some cabinets I'll be building.  I'm reading various sources about finishing, and many say to avoid sandpaper with stearates because the stearates will prevent the finish from adhering.

I have a healthy supply of Granat.  How is Granat in relation to stearates?  Is it okay to to use to prepare work for finishing, or do I need something else?

Granat is wax free. I use it on cabinet and trim grade in between coat sanding all the time.

Since it was posted in the Ask Festool section, I'll give the official response which mirrors what Scott said. There are no issues using Granat with water based or oil based finishes.

I use Granat on all our floors. 100 grit raw wood. In between coats we use 180g granat. Nothing better IMHO.
