Why does my blade touch the green splinter gard while not in use on my ts55?
When I lower the blade it touches the green splinter gard.
I'm afraid that if I use it it will be destroyed while in use?
I've used it in the past without any problems.
Is this normal?
Does the blade take a slightly different trajectory while in use?
Is there something wrong with my set up?
Thank you for your comments!

The green splinterguard acts as a zero-clearance insert, so when it's used for the first time, the blade will cut through it.

(The same goes for the rubber strip on the guiderail; the first cut trims the rubber strip, so afterwards you can use the edge of the strip as a reference of where the saw will cut)
