Greetings FOG,
A humble carpenter from Ottawa here. About a year ago I was hired on at a small shop that uses a good bit of Festool gear so I started reading the forum as questions came up about certain tools and whatnot.
However, the main attraction quickly became the great content and info shared by users. There is lots to be learned from a collection of craftsman and tradespeople getting into the nuts and bolts of tools, certain woodworking tasks, even aspects of running a business, especially as a newer tradesperson like myself. The many elegant and efficient van setups I've seen shared here are particularly inspiring.
After organizing and transporting my employer's tools (Festool or otherwise) in systainers, I was converted to the system and have since put together my own collection of Tanos and Festool boxes and Makita tool totes. I was using Dewalt Tough System before (and still do), but the smaller form factor and ease of use of systainers can't be beat.
Cheers!
