Hello Everybody,

I have recently found and joined this forum after purchasing a CT26 and a TS55 with the 1400mm rail. I got these in order to get started on the man cave rebuild that I am going to undertake this year.

I am mainly a hobbyist. My father was a carpenter, and all his tools were passed onto me. I am an Engineer, who likes to work in wood as a pastime, as well as undertake renovations on the house. I am also building a new house in the future, my plan is to so some of the fitting out myself, to get what I want at the quality level I desire.

There are a few more Festool purchases that I want to make but will try and avoid being a big drinker of the green Kool Aid  [big grin]

Regards
Graham

Welcome Graham,

I am in Sydney as well. One of the threads on this forumyou might like to keep an eye on is "One for the Aussies..." which contains most of the local discussions on sales, promotions, price increases, etc.

Cheers,
Edwin.

Hi Graham, and welcome to the forum.
Your wallet might be in for a bit of a bumpy ride so hang on tight.
Good luck with the Man cave, we all need that bit of space to get away for a while. Maybe if you find the time you can post some pictures of your progress.

Good luck.

Welcome [smile]

Good luck with be sparing on your Festool spend!

What part of Sydney?

And also contains most of the jibber-jabber that rest of the world doesn't understand unless you're of British ancestry.  [popcorn] [poke] [popcorn]

Mmm, we down here may just 'let that one go through the to the keeper'!  [smile] [big grin] [big grin]

[size=10pt]Origionally from cricket where it is not always prudent for the battsperson to strike the ball, as for example; it is elevated and playing the ball might mean a shot leading to a catch. So the battsperson leaves the ball and the ball should safely pass over the stumps to the gloves of the wicket keeper.

This description has now passed in to Aussie slang as - just ignore that insult, do not respond, 'let it pass through to the keeper'.

I've always appreciated and enjoyed the Bitish & Aussie humor as I'm part Brit myself....a small bit...but the thing I noticed, is that while the Yanks talk alot and then bring their statement to an end, the Brits & Aussies continue to jibber jabber with each other in the background. It's kind of like continual background noise but good noise.

Yeah, what it really is, is that we Aussies cannot let the other fellow have the last word!  [eek] [big grin]

Yes, I know. This reply is a perfect example!  [big grin]
