Grip Tape

I have used this foam tape for about a year and it adds so much to any hammer or tool with a grip.It is very functional and comfortable to use and I thought I would share this with the group.  This item is at Lee Valley in gardening.I do not why it is not in woodworking.I am on my second package.Twelve feet to a package and is UV- and weather-resistant.The directions tell you what angle to cut the tape on and it turns out very neat.It is item number EA180.
I wish I could figure a way to get paid for this advertisement. :

That looks good also.The foam I have been using gives you good control. No slippage at all. I had seen some Riggers from Biggie Crane using twenty pound hammers in high places and was looking for what they used for a good grip when I found this about a year ago.It is one of those things that adds a lot for a little .

I just purchased some of Lee Valley's "Super High-Friction Tape."  Since it's related to the Grip Tape discussion, I thought I'd post about it here.

This stuff is amazing.  Absolutely stops things from sliding at all.  I bought it to use on a planer jig (which I'll post about later).  But I'm already thinking of lots of other uses for this stuff in my shop.  My only question is about longevity, whether it wears down easily or holds its friction capabilities.

The Heskins grip tape is what I've always used and really rate.

These kinds of grip tapes are defo not tennis grip tapes! They are the real deal for floors and even comply with all safety reg's. Skateboarders also use it but ecen they need a tape which can withstand a lot of battering.
