I have the 1400/2 guide rail.  I'm going to be adding a 55" LR32 rail.  I'd like to connect the two rails together occasionally for sawing and dadoing, but I don't need to connect multiple LR32 rails together.  Do two of the regular connectors (482107) suffice, or do I need to involve 496938?  Thanks!

im not sure what the last item is  off the top of my head but i presum its the lr32 hole liner uppper
not you dont need that for the normal rails. just 2 of the normal joiner bars

As long as you're not connecting the guide rails for use with the LR32 hole drilling setup, the regular guide rail connectors are fine.  Once you join 2 rails together for hole drilling, you'll benefit from the special connectors that keep hole spacing consistent between TWO LR32 hole rails.

The LR32 connector (cat 496 938) is actually a spacer to ensure the holes of the Holy rails are spaced 32mm on center. Cat 496 938 also serves as the linear stop on the bottom of a Holy rail to space the hole correctly from the to and bottom of side panels.

You still need two of the ordinary rail connectors (cat 482 107) to actually hold the rails together. Remember cat 482 107 consists on a single part. To make the needed pair you must buy 2 of them. The original Festool guide rails only needed a single connector bar.

Live4ever,

The connectors are sold separately, so make sure you order two of them.  I work on location a lot and I keep an extra set in my main kit so I'm never without them.

Cheer,
Steve
