Guide rail system with other circular saws

I've got a MFT/3, and I've been using the guide rail system with my old Porter Cable circular saw.  It works, but in no way is the sort of finely tuned system that everyone with the Festool plunge saws is used to.  So my question is, have people come up with ways of making other brands of tools more compatible with the Festool guide rail system?

There are a few adapters out there - MicroFence comes to mind, that will allow you to use non-Festool tools on the guide rails. 

I don't have one, but the jig saw adapter looks pretty simple.  It may be easy to modify for additional uses.
