Here's some useful information if you're buying used Festools or just curious.

There are two styles of guide rail.

The older rail, at the bottom of the photo, is not as wide as the newer one, is not as rigid, uses a single connector when guide rails are joined.

The new ("/2") style is wider, with an extra slot facing up.  A new-style guide rail is more rigid and uses two connectors when sections are joined.

Festool sells only the new style.  You need to be concerned about getting the old style only if you're buying used.

All Festool tools that ride the rail can be used with either style.

All clamps that attach underneath the rail can be used with either style, along with the Deflector, and the Limit Stop.

Some accessories, such as the FS-KS angle unit and the Limit Stop for FS/2 work only with the /2 rails.  I think the Gecko only attaches to the new style.
