After being fixed under 1st year warranty Festool had it for 4 weeks, They say they were waiting for the parts from Germany.

How crap is there service?

Any way went to use for the first time today and they didnt even fix the part of the casing thet fell off. The new ts55r they have made this part is larger so should not happen anymore. But I'm stuck with the old design, I think they should exchange for the new one.
Festool dont think theres a problem it being away for 4 weeks, even after me saying it quotes on there website they wont hold the machine for longer than 48 hours.

I dont know how they missed it as the lid on systainer don't close properly.
So now its got to go back.
Ive just bought a Festool ETS150/5 before I opened the returned TS55.
Think someone from Festool should get onto this or might send sander back under 30 day try out. Do I pay the postage or do festool? (for the new purchase)

The return postage would be a matter for you,I would not send the ets 150/5 sander back its a great sander nose and face spring to mind.

you should find the number of your area rep.Where are you in the country? the reps are mostly good and will fast track your issues..

see now, that you are in lincoln anyone know the area rep for that area?

There's quite a few of us here who have had the original ts55 for years with no problems what exactly is wrong with yours ? You say something has fallen off ?

Hi

Here are the names of the northern reps.

michael tull 07774 773 701 north west

trevor wilkinson 07525 802925 north east

Hi Paul.
You're clearly disappointed - but do what Festoolfootstool says - contact the rep's, and, keep the sander - it makes sense.
Also as Joiner1970 asks - what happened to your saw?  Maybe someone can throw some light on the subject then.

Off topic: just read some of your previous posts; applaud your ambition in doing what you can.  How did it go with the fire-doors? (apologies if you posted updates - might have missed them)
BTW - you must be stronger than me  [big grin] .  Got a fire-door to put up later today - 44mm thick x 758mm wide.  I can barely lift the thing - lol.

Good luck, and let us know how you get on.
Richard.

By the way systainers are accessories and are not covered by the warranty, it would have been a nice gesture of them to fix it though. But your not really giving us any details, maybe you did the same with the guys from Festool because none of us can actually make out what is the problem you had/have.

how do i upload a photo treid on last post so you can see the part that fell of the ts55.
the part on the saw makes the saw pop up in height more thats why the systainer does not close properly.

looks like i managed my first photo upload.
you can see the part of the metal housing that fell of in the middle of the photo

That's actually part of the metal casting that's broken off from what I can tell. Must have been bashed pretty badly to do that . Have you ever had any bad kick backs or do you ever let go of the handle and let the saw pop up on its own ? That's the only way I could see that damage happening.

It cut about 10 lengths of OSB board from new when it happened.
As I went to saw it popped of.

It must be a problem as on the new one they have beefed it up.

Chris it is an odd looking breakage,my eyes were drawn to  the plastic casing to the right of of the damaged metal part it has an odd look about it..

The metal casting could have easily been defective even before the saw was assembled.

Just spoke to the Festool rep he rang me while on holiday, after I left a message on his answer phone.
He owned this problem and he said he while get some one to ring me back Friday as its gone 5pm.

Obviously your one is faulty but its not a problem with the old model yours is just damaged . I've never had a problem with mine and I've never seen anyone complain on here about it either . You were just unlucky.

I understand you want to exchange it for the newer one you're probably a bit peeved that you bought it then a new model came out. I had something similar when I got mine years ago they upgraded the bases on them when I bought mine but I was sold the old style. I just returned it straight away to the shop un-used and they swapped it.

Thanks for the sales reps number. He owned the problem.
Now I'm the new owner of a TS55R that Festool sent to me.

Cant complain about that customer service.

Thanks

Glad to hear that someone has received good service from festool in the Uk. so far i have found them to be completely useless and the rep that was supposed to come and meet me to see the issue with my carvex still aint came near me since i last spoke to him over 2 weeks ago he also aint responded to any voicemail messages. my carvex has been to festool twice for repair and the so-called service technicians cant see an issue with it even though it still doesnt cut plumb, add to that they returned it to me with the insert that holds the jigsaw in place in the systainer smashed and broken. So at the moment im not happy with them  [mad]

It's a known issue with the psc400 carvex that it had issues cutting plumb and true that's why they have released a new model with improved blade guide. All I want is a jigsaw that cuts properly and they are trying to tell me they can't find an issue with it

For the price they charge they should not sell the tool in the first place unless it cuts plumb, if they have fixed the problem with a release if the new tool then any recent purchases of the old one should be exchanged for the new one. Especially if they advertised the old tool with its feature being plum cuts
