This is my first time doing half blind dovetails. Using a porter cable jig. Trial and error. I was happy with my joints. Then i go to cut the groove (half inch from bottom of drawer and 1/2 inch groove for 3/8 ply drawer box wrapped in leather) and it ruined the aesthetics of the joint from the side which is the whole reason i am doing this. I luckily screwed up my first drawer box so i got to dial in the fit and did a test run. I am not wanting to cut the groove into my drawer boxes as is right now because i know it will ruin them. I am wondering if there is a way to fix this by cutting down the drawer depth. How would you proceed?
