Hammer #2 arriving tomorrow

I haven't tried to machine any soft woods yet so to that I can't answer.  On the hardwoods, to my naked eye, I can't see any scalloping.  I can tell you it feels very smooth to the touch, maybe a light hit with 180 - 200 would make it ready for finish.
