Hammer K3 Vacuum Splitter Question

Those of you who have these machines can you show me the vacuum spliter you use between the shroud (2" I think) and the base of the machine, which I think is 5-inches in diameter?

I have looked for such a vac splitter and have found nothing much less any photos.  I would think that Felder-Hammer would offer this splitter.

I hope my Jet Vortex is sufficient vacuum to work well with this machine.  This vac has a 4-inch port so at the minimun I will have to have a 4-inch to 5-inch adapter which may not be that difficult to find.  But I would really like to have the shroud port hooked up to the vac as well.

Any and all help on this matter will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Just came across this 'coupler'.  It's cheap enough, would be great if I can find it locally.

This solves part of the problem, I still need to have a splitter to hook up the 2-inch blade shroud to the 4-inch hose.

Look inside the K3 & behind that plastic is a 4" hose  [blink]

You'll need to change that out or get jiggie with it.

Could you tell that my K3 has not been delivered yet? [big grin]

Thanks for that bit of info. My K3 should be arriving by the end of the month or so I was told.

Thanks again for your help.

Oneida has all sorts of reducers and connectors on their site.  oneida-air.com

Your Jet should be enough to attached to the bottom port, as already said its definitely 4" inside so could be direct coupled. Splitting off a 2" line from the 4" to the upper is going to result in very little collection up top. This 2" port isn't one of Hammer/Felder stellar moves and many resort to attaching a separate vacuum line to it directly which while not ideal does provide excellent dust extraction up top. When I had my K500S it also had the same upper guard, I modified it to except a 4" line but was using a Clearvue CV1800 which was able to keep dust flowing properly through the 2 4" lines.

Haha... good ol wifi here. Been having problems loading sites
past cpl days. No, I disregarded the first line out of frustration
because FOG/others here takes a bit to load. My bad.

The thought has entered my brain that I could certainly attach my CT 36 to the blade shroud, but this vacuum business is getting messy.  I absolutely hate having to vacuum up a sawdust covered floor, but to prevent that I'd have to catch the crud as it leaves the blade.  With the Jet and the CT connected to the K3 that should be more than enough to keep things nice and tidy.

And, since it now appears that all I have to worry about is connecting the 4-inch Jet hose to the K3 this will not cost much to make happen.

And just perhaps, I can keep my dog from covering herself in sawdust and then running into the house.  I can't seem to keep us out of trouble. [big grin]

I use two vacs for my tablesaw dust collection.  I have a Fein pulling through a steel Oneida, sitting on a 35 gallon steel grease drum and for the over head blade collection, I have a Sears wall mount.  I cut four sheets of polycarbonate into 48 X 19.5" on Friday and had  about one minute of cleanup.  Other than the banshee screaming of the Sears, it is a perfect setup.
