Happy Anniversary Foggers!

January 22 will mark the 7th anniversary of the FOG being out on the internet in this format and not as a Yahoo Group.

We have seen tremendous growth and outstanding participation from our members who continue to serve the original goal - education about how to use Festools.

As a member I can't even begin to think about all the tips and advice that I have gotten here from so many willing members.  I know as a Moderator now in my fifth year I am so proud of the support you give so openly to those who post.

So here is to you guys and gals who have made this the place to be on the internet when it comes to advice, camaraderie, and knowledge about the blue and green tools!  [thumbs up] [thumbs up]  Without you this would not be the success that it is!

Lots of advice, contests, dealer and third party involvement, no overbearing moderation, easy to use, and a friendly, open environment with lots of participation.

That does not come without strong stewardship!

I still remember the old Yahoo forum which was a real pain to use.  I recall Frank Pellow trying to keep a database of what members owned using Yahoo tools.  This place has come a long way!

Thank you , Peter. I have found both you and Seth to be excellent moderators and thank you both for your advice and support which has helped me on many occasions since I joined last May. We also have Shane who seems keep it all together and offers a Festool perspective.

Living in a country 16 hrs ahead of your Eastern Time, I often wonder when you guys sleep or have a social life. Frequently more than one of you are on well past your official work time, an example being at this very moment.

Every year I hesitate somewhat before I post this reminder because I worry that it is seems that I am hunting for accolades  for Shane, Seth , and I.

That isn't it at all.  This should be in my mind a celebration of the support and camaraderie that is provided by all sorts of guys all over the world to anyone who asks.  You guys make up the forum and make it better everyday!

  Thanks for the thanks. I will echo what Peter said about the great group of members taking time to post all the useful and informative projects , modifications, and tips.  Long before I was a moderator I was a new member looking for information on an incredibly expensive circular saw and then finding myself going down the slippery slope.  It is fun to see new  users going through the same process and finding that the claims about the tools are realistic.

    Thanks to all the members for the huge amount of great content!

I'm pretty new here, but I have spent more time here reading than I have with my new toys....errr, tools. I expect that will change soon, but I'll still be here every day looking for new information and ideas.

Thank you all for the great tips and suggestions.  I can't even remember how I found the FOG?  I know a lot of people would be interested if they knew of the great content on this forum.  I spread the word whenever possible and try to let people know about the Festool Systematic approach but, I think they have to experience it to become believers.  I'm disappointed that rags like FineWoodworking and their online presence FineWoodworking.com don't even acknowledge the Domino as a power tool in the sections and reviews.
