I own the kapex and one of the frustrating things about it is that there aren't any positive stops when compounding miters.  Therefore cutting crown on a flat is a laborious task, along with consistent splices(if using 22.5 for splice).  Also there isn't a release lever on the (angle engager), I dont know the proper name for it.  What I mean is I'm close to 0 it's really hard for the saw to not fall back into the 0 pos. stop.  I use a small clamp but that's ridiculous.  I would like for Festool to UPGRADE my saw with these features, it has to be possible.  ???    Note the first question refers to the above compound miter function as the second question refers to the standard table miter function.  Thank You

Darn I didn't end topic with a question mark.....    I really want another cxs... [crying]

i dont have a kapex nor have i studied it but it couldnt be that hard to make a different plate with those presets on it.

I think he is talking about compound setting.
I also wish they had put a positive stop for common crown(52/38)

I would agree that Festool should have designed into the Kapex stops at 22.5 degrees on the bevel scale for scarf joints cut on the flat and 31.62 degrees for the common miter setting and 33.9 for the common bevel setting for crown cut on the flat.

Maybe something else for Ron Wenner to make?  [poke]
