Was just wandering if anyone of you guys have already built, or have started building/designing cabinets to accommodate the new AZ drawers getting released next week?

Right now I am designing a work bench to fit inside of my new 7x16 Work trailer and I am really excited Festool is releasing these, they are going to be extremely efficient for my business and the fact that I can put the locks on them to keep certain employees from playing with my Festoy's gives me a great feeling of peace. I am also making a place for my future Kapex to set in the bench. If you guys could share any pics or ideas regarding work trailer storage or just sys-AZ drawers please do!!

I was going to order a set of 5 a few weeks back but have since found out that Festool say they are not suitable for use in a vehicle.  :'(

I was planning on using them for storage in my van but have had to have a re-think.

I wander why they would say that or even make a product that wouldn't be suitable for a trailer or van. Most Festool owners are tradesmen who do on site work. Since I know that now, I'm going to order just one and give it a try, I will still build my cabinets for the sys AZ but if it does not work out I will make something that will.

Yes, I blame JRB......., he still hasn't got his finger out and given us all a decent review...!!!!!!

(Only kidding JRB!!!!.... [wink] )

Here is the link that states that Festool don't advise their use in a vehicle - https://www.festoolusa.com/media/pdf/706994_002_MonAnl_SYS-AZ_Auszug%20.pdf

Im just going to hope it is all because of some Legal BS and that they turn out to be suitable in a mobile environment.

Not yet. Im not sure if its an issue with them opening on corners etc so thought a small lockable flap that hinges over them could keep them in place but then i could just do that with shelves... Again.....

New van within next 6month so will decide then

That was my thinking as well.

Its disappointing, as I had pretty much designed my storage units ready for the new Sys AZ drawers. and after reading the layout drawings in the link that I posted up, it would have given me a chance to put my LR32 system to work with my new OF1010.... [big grin]

I bought 10 sets of 16" over-extension slides from Rockler and built slide out trays for 5 Sustainers per cabinet. The cabinets are open frame. Not pretty, but functional. I used pine from Home Depot so my total cost was very low. Very low!

The trays pull out enough to allow the Sustainer lids to open about 120 degrees. I don't have flexibility as to tray height, but that is the only drawback to the design.
