Have a Look at this Kapex 120 EB

Came across this listing for an April 2015 build KS 120 EB (right in that armature problem window). Overall, I thought the saw looked in decent shape, but then I noticed what looks to be some kind of oil/fluid buildup where the casing of the armature meets the saw. That does not seem to bode well.

Any thoughts on what issue this KS 120 is facing?

Thanks!

That area of leakage is usually where there has been some separation of oil from the grease. It normally isn't an issue. Sixteen years later my saw hasn't minded that condition.

This used to come up all the time on this forum but I haven't seen it mentioned recently, maybe Festool have found a solution on newer saws?

The leaking never looked great but wasn't thought to cause a problem.

Search for "Kapex leaking oil" on the forum and I'm sure you will get plenty of hits.

It appears more often if you store your saw on the UG stand vertically. Festool, if I remember correctly, suggests that the UG stand / saw combo is stored with the stand lying down with the saw horizontal. I always that kinda defeated the purpose of the saw on the stand so I ignored the suggestion.

Thanks. I looked up that search and read through a couple of the threads. Seems that it's not something to be overtly concerned about.
