I'm headed to London next month and wanted to know if anyone had any recommendations for tool stores or woodworking stores to check out while I'm there.  Really want to see a CMS-GE GB Compact Module System in person.

Hi Dan I guess it depends on where in London you are staying, and what transport you will have.Ooh and what type of tools apart from the obvious  The  end of May beginning of June the weather should be good. I would have offered to drag you around a few tool stores, but I will be in France working on a large pile of rubble (farm house)I bought some years ago.....Oh  Don't forget to bring  nylons/choclate and chewing gum. [big grin] It would be interesting if you posted about your tool store experiences while in the UK

I'll be staying at the Sumner Hotel -- Marble Arch, 54 Upper Berkeley Street, London W1H 7QR.  I'll be using public transit and cabs ( a Yank driving on the wrong side of the road in London -- you don't want that!!).  I googled sites and London Power Tools looks interesting.  I was hoping to check out both Festool and traditional hand tools and what ever else England has to offer.

First and foremost, follow Frank Pellow's lead, and take Systainers as your luggage (I don't know if he's the first, but he has an interesting thread related to this).

And, most importantly, pick up a ton of the Plug-It pigtail adapters.  You could corner the US market reselling those.  [wink]

Dan, have you contacted Festool UK? As you are a dealer in the USA maybe they will advise on where to go to see the CMS-GE-GB in person. The problem I have encountered is that few dealers carry much in the way of display or stock. My T15+3 Set took 2 weeks to get as neither of my nearest dealers held stock and apparently neither does Festool UK!  [eek]
I hope you are made as welcome in London as I was on my visit to the USA (Florida), had a great time, and I came home with a number of tools that were NAIUK at that time [big grin].

i am based in shepperton middlesex which is on the outskirts of London about 45 minutes by train from marble arch. Your best bet might be one of the bigger festool dealers like axminster tools its quiet away from London but they have Festool world at their nuneaton store where they have everything on display. There are a few good Festool shops in my area but they might not have everything you want in stock.

Hi Joiner there is the the wokingham toosl show may  22nd, I have no idea what they will have there, or if there are any deals. maybe to far out of town.I have never been to one of these festool gigs so I dont know if they ship stuff in or not.
