Greetings from the USVI,
I took the first sip of the green tea during my last trip to the NE US mainland. I ended up shipping down a ts55 saw with two rails (one with the holes) a 500 domino and some other goodies. So far I’m liking the new tools. I’m thinking of picking up a router and the shelf pin system next. Glad to be here.

Welcome to the FOG. You purchased some great tools. I can see many more in your future.

Thanks Don! I’m doing a pretty big project on the main house down here right now. As soon as the end is in sight I’ll be able to start the footings for a new work shop. Unfortunately the Mrs is trying to clamp down on my tool spending. I might be able to sneak a few more sustainers into the spare room I’m working out of 😂

You drank the green kool aid now yer hooked  [big grin].

Great start.

Please post photos of your project we like seeing folks projects.

Oh and  [welcome] to the FOG

This is my first go at the hybrid concrete and wood construction that is used down here, I always like to learn new things. All the new footings, pedastals, and columns are poured by hand. The ring beam gets formed around the rafter beams and will be done in one shot with a couple concrete trucks and a pump to get it up over the house.

Hi,

  Welcome to the forum!  [smile]

  It would be great to follow your projects in a project topic.

  Get a router. They are great! OF1400 is a really good all 'rounder.

Seth

Thanks for the interest  Seth and Jobsworth. Wasn’t sure if that would really fit into what I see here as most of what you guys do seems to be on the finishing side of things. I hope to be shifting to more of that work in the next year or so.
  I’m on a boat next week so maybe I can find some time to put something together in the member project section. Merry Christmas everyone or what ever you might be celebrating

Used to be a lot of remodel, home additions and new builds here. But those have tapered off in the last few years. Used to really like following the techniques and tool use. I learned a lot from the those folks

We dont get to much step by step, phase by phase any more.

[member=71948]StevoWevo[/member] Welcome to FOG!

You bought some nice stuff.  Hope you have room for more sustainers.  Seth mentioned getting a router and suggested the 1400 is a good option.  I completely agree with Seth.  I have a 1400 and it was my only router for four years.  It is simply a terrific all around router.
