Hello everyone, I've been a member here for a while but this is my first post. I'm a time served joiner but I specialise in kitchen fitting. I recognise a few members here from the kitchenfittersforum. After browsing this forum and some of the member projects it has really inspired me to do a bit more than just fitting kitchens. I quite fancy making some more furniture and fancy cabinetry. I'm hoping for some suggestions on what I should do with a few solid oak worktop off cuts I have left over from a recent kitchen I fitted. I'm thinking of a coffee table but something quite fancy/ complex. open to ideas. Thanks for reading :-)

[welcome] to posting here  [big grin]

I've made a few bread bins with roller type lids. Often a mass produced product but takes a new meaning when presented to client as "left over material gift".
Seems like a simple project but can be quite complex if you make inlays using same oak with the grain running at 90 degrees or you could stain the inlay. Also for decoration, you could dovetail the sides or "through domino" them.
Any small project with inlay would test your skill levels if you'd like a challenge.

Hope this sparks an idea or two

Tigger
