MFT. Show her how it makes your work safer. Women love that!
You will love that you can crosscut and rip very accurately and repetitavely and safely with it. Not to mention the multiple other ways you can use it.
Then start saving for a domino,

I am rather new to the Festool system - just have the track saw and a vac...I had the same issue of deciding which to get....I went the build an MFT route.  Did not make it fancy - but is very functional (and bigger than regular MFT/3).  I have about $225 all in on the project including two sets of LV Parf dogs (this included the cost for having someone with a CNC make me a 4x8 sheet of holes)...The next tool I get will be the Domino.

If you don't need the portability, I would make the MFT and be able to buy the Domino more quickly than buying both....

Don't underestimate the MFT/3 and the accessories it comes with - it's a great foundation for track saw and router.
