I am so sorry to inform you that your idea for a contest would probably not work here well.  We tend to be long winded and would have an issue on that end unlike other places where the discussions are short, sweet, and always on topic  [poke] [poke].

You have created a virtual internet frenzy of activity based on your well thought out postings and forum enthusiasm and I would hope that perhaps you could suggest some other ideas for a contest here.

there should be a contest on how can come up with the best label falling off systainer debacle   thats had everyone asking the same guestion why!then it could be implamented by festool [eek].
oh of course your favorite moderator would have to be excluded [huh] [huh]
just think how many little things,glitch's,design flaws that this form discusses on a daily basis the best fix

Here is a though,  there have been a bunch of threads on festool-related challenges.  For example, how to rip thin narrow material or how to cut a sliding dovetail with the existing routers, among others.  Why don't we have a poll of the top 2-3 festool related challenges, and then have a contest for peers to develop a solution to the challenge.  Best solution/jig wins.  Perhaps we would need to define what best means (slickest, most technological intensive, least investment, easiest to replicate, most reliable and repeatable).  This is probably a 2-3 month contest.

I like the systainerize contest. 

I also would vote for a best tutorial type content.  This would reward quality of step-by-step presentation as opposed to the end product or the type of project. It doesn't have to be limited to furniture. We could have all trades, occupations, and skill levels as long as they use some Festools in the endeveour.  Hey, Warner, I'll find a way to vote 1000x for you if your entry is on DYI roof repair [big grin]. Snow load.. wink, wink.

I would get spanked on that too...especially since I've never build a piece of furniture in my life.

If it was a programming competition, or a challenge of who can calculate checksums the fastest I bet I could spank most members. [big grin]

Most unusual task for a Festool.  MUst be shown in action.

I have a picnic table made from one sheet of plywood and goes together with no fasteners. Parts interlock together. Handed down from my Farther.

How about a small contest.  I'm inspired by

1 The number of members who have remarked on the space saving breaking down sheet goods with a TS55 instead of a table saw.

2, The amazing organizing of everything needed for on-site work in a trailer or small truck.

3. The organization and packing of tools in a systainer,

4,  The way the Systool stuff stacks together.

I'd give the prize for the best idea for shrinking our shops (involving Systools), and honorable mentions to (a) the smallest (useful) shop overall, smallest when packed up, best mobile shop, systainer with the mostest, and so on.

For the unusual Festool, does it need to be actual ww use?  Seems like someone hooked up a bunch of kitchen utensils for a contest once and he might have won.  Just make sure to think out all the contest guidelines or who knows what you'll get.
