Hi There,

I've just bought the cross cut fence extension for my Hammer K3 table saw. I am used to poor instructions from Hammer but this it came with no instructions at all!

Has anyone fitted one? I was looking for tips on setting up the scales so they read correctly, and how to use the provided hardware to lock the fence (I can see that the elongated nut fits into the fence and the thread comes through the hole under the fence but I can not work out what to do with the lock nut provided).

Thanks

Roland

Thanks for the reply. I am trying to fit the extension on page 40, section 8.6. It comes with a thumb screw and 2 nuts, one that nut fits in the fence and a nylock nut that I can not see where to fit.
It also comes with two scales. I think one you cut a small section from and place on the extension where the stop sits (effectively continuing the scale from the standard cross-cut fence). The other fits on the extension bar and runs the other way. I spent some time thinking about it last night and I think I can see how I might set them up was hoping to check with someone who had done it.

Sorry I don't have that bit to check.. the best I can do is a google image search if thats helps

I know this is a old topic, but nevertheless I have the exact same problem right now here 7-8 yrs later ;-)
How do you add the tape to the extension and how to calibrate it. Does any have a solution?

You stick the scale to the bar that fits into the slot of the fence. There's a set screw in the underside of the endblock that you can use to adjust the position of the block. The scale on the upper side of the end block can be fitted just like the scale on the standard fence. Adjust its position as needed and fixate it with the black piece of plastic and the set screw. Be careful not to overtighten it, like I did (see photo), because those pieces crack easily.

Thank you - that was really helpful with all the pictures as well  [smile] ...and for the reminder not to overtighten  ;D

I have a K3 and was wondering if you have added some kind of extension table that needs a longer crosscut fence?  Just curious. thanks

Thanks

Sorry, didnt see your post before now.

I just have the small triangular-ish extension table, but for longer cuts I have a rolling cart I roll under to add support where needed
