Help looking for a wood source in Oregon.

Greeting all, I’m looking for a hardwood/ cabinet plywood source in Oregon.
I’m living in Douglas county. I would appreciate any help and leads.

Hardwood Industries.  I'm in Bend, OR and I use their yard here in town.  They have another retail yard in Medford, but I have not been there.

They have some amazingly beautiful very large slabs with corresponding high prices. But they also have smaller stuff too. They usually have a box of shorts for one price deals. A lot of highly figured black walnut and big leaf maple and on and on. Best to make a day out of it  [wink]

We drive down from the Seattle area to visit the store.  The truck fills up with walnut in a hurry, and the wallet empties faster.. [blink]

Goby’s does ship too, and its pretty reasonable for the shorts.

You also have Crosscut Hardwoods in Eugene, the Seattle store is a candy store for woodworkers so I have to imagine the Eugene Store would be the same.

Thanks Ron. We’re doing pretty ok,considering.  Glide fire Is about ten miles from us.
Yesterday, l blew all the needles off the roof and gutters on the shop in town. 
My brother in Newberg, OR. Had fire 1/4 mile uphill of him last night. Really smoky.
Saw a video of Willits, Ca Monday at 1500 hrs, the town was dark as if it was midnight.
I thought I’d left this stuff in California.

go onto Woodmizer website or call the dealer there in Oregon. Find out who has a bandsaw mill and email them asking pricing for flitches and 4/4, 6/4, 8,4. Flat sawn, QS or VG. Not sure of the species. You can also from the same list find out who is a sawyer-for-hire. Then you get the logs and pay them by the hour or board foot. Not sure of the wood species you have there other than lots of Doug Fir

Last week I was up in Eugene passing my contractor test and swung by Cross cut. Pretty nice. Picked up some materials.

I'm in OR but closer to portland than Eugene. Having been to both Crosscut and Hardwood Ind, I now prefer the latter. Hardwood industries has all their lumber separated by grade, and very specific grades at that. So when you buy from them, you know exactly what you are getting. Before you go to hardwood Industries, download their catalog and become familiar with their grades.

Going to crosscut is fun, but it's more like digging through a bin and hoping you will find the quality that you need.

You can't go wrong at either place, they each have their specific strengths.

you’re welcome. A sawyer can drive to you if you have down trees that you want milled costs more since you need to pay for drive time. or you can take the trees or cants to him for resawing.

When I was doing the vineyard thing awhile ago. We had a BIG valley oak come down. I found a sawyer pretty much the same way. I call Bailey’s a logging supply company that sold Lucas mills. They gave me a name of a guy in my area with a mill.
They came out and made some sawdust.
The tree was 5 1/2 feet wide. We ended up with 2 section for slabbing, one was about 12-14’ long and the other around 9’. It was a tall tree.  The vineyard owner ended up a lot of slabs.
