Help me choose a track saw and dust extractor

Even with the CT36 you still have to empty bags on a regular basis depending on your usage.  The Oneida UDD allows you to operate for a much longer time without changeout, I still would recommend a UDD from Oneida.

I would go 55 and 36 and then use the rest of the cash to buy the numerous goodies that come with the 55!

I have the CTL midi and changing bags is like nearly stick a plug in a socket (if the socket is difficult to reach, it may take even longer). The CTL midi, open it, switch the clamps a little bit aside, take the bag and put a new one in, i think, i could do it in 30 seconds, the next time i do it, i will stop time. Maybe the changing of the bag with other brands takes much longer time, maybe this is the reason, people experienced a big delay. But that is not with the CTLs. The other reason i would strongly recommend festool, especially as a vac, is the handling: i can stack the systainers on top of the ctl midi, move it around and place the tools i need safely on top of the vac. That is also a big advantage regarding usability and time.

TS55 + extra blades, Parallel Guides and extensions, quick release clamps, stops, lr32 track, and the snow ball gets on it's merry way

As someone who owns 2 of the Festool Autoclean vacs and one of the new Bosch, I would only consider the Festool vacuums if you plan on stacking systainers on top or expanding the CT26 and up with accessories like boom arm, work centre ...
If you just want a very good vac for wood dust I'd advise you to look at the new Bosch vacuums. They have considerably better suction.
And, if you're also going to be using the vacuum for cement or drywall dust, there's only one choice really, and that's the Starmix iPulse vacuums.

So to sum it up:
* If you only need it for wood dust -> Festool if you want to accessorise, because while good suction, they don't have the strongest suction.
The new Bosch vacs perform considerably better.
* If you need it for cement and drywall dust as well -> Starmix iPulse, as it has a superior filter cleaning system compared to all the others.

Best of luck with your choice and purchase.

I bought the Midi and put the Oneida on top.  All the Festool vacs have the same CFM, the Oneida negates the need for a larger capacity vac.

I agree for saw work.
For dust does the DD capture most of it?
Many people claim that the finest dust (which is all fine from a sander, or sawing drywall) actually does not get captured in a shop vac. If all/most the fine stuff wanders into the vacuum then the bag would not be full, but could effectively breathing limited??

I dunno - but it seems like a good question, but has almost no bearing on the OP's use with a saw.

"I'm looking at getting the TS 75 and the CT 48 dust extractor."

Excellent choices Hoang and Happy Birthday when the day arrives.

I like cutting up 3 sheets of plywood at a time, to me the TS 75s' benefits out shine the TS 55 fine cutting
abilities.

As a side note I own both saws and leave a Panther blade on the TS75 and the original blade on the TS55.

And, Welcome to the Forum!

I stopped by my local dealer yesterday to look at and feel some of their festool products. I saw the CT36 and to me it's not big at all and the TS55 seems to be a perfect fit and weight. Also checked out their OF1010 and OF1400 since I also needed a new router. Was needing a router for doing machine dovetails and was thinking about getting the OF1400 until a friend of mine told me it would be a pretty heavy router for dovetailing. Sure enough it was and the OF1010 felt perfect so I went home with on. Thanks for all the valuable input guys. Really appreciate it.
