Help me decide model of 2nd Festool Vac I should get.

The only thing about the mini or midi is they're not HEPA out of the box unless that's changed.

That changed, Bob... They are all full-unit HEPA rated/tested except for the newest to NA, the CT 36 AC. There may still be some older stock around though. They also all have about the same suction, from the MINI to the CT 48.

I didn't do my homework!  Thanks Tom!

With all the CT's having the same specs and filtration (except the CT 36 AS), I still like the ability to swith hoses more easily on the CT 26 and 36's.

Is there something different with the way the hose swaps out on the MINI/MIDI's versus the other CT's Bob/Anybody/Bueller?  [blink]

...

Yes.  The larger CTs have intake ports in the front of the extractor just like your CT22 has, which easily accept any of the three (D27, D36 and D50) sized hoses.  The smaller Mini and Midi extractors are different in that their intake ports are on the top, inside the hose garage, and are oriented straight up.  These smaller units come equipped with a 90 degree elbow that plugs into the intake port which allows for a D27 hose to exit out of the front of the hose garage -- the larger D36 and D50 hoses are too large and only fit by first removing the 90 degree fitting, and thus exit the extractor out the top vertically which means that you cannot have Systainers clasped to the top of the Mini or Midi while using these larger hoses...

Thank you so much.  I have to digest and contemplate that issue now and see whether it impacts my needed scenarios.

By chance, does anybody know of a previous video review on this issue which helps me discern the differences.  Corwin has explained this briantly in detail - thank you Corwin - but I'm having difficulty visualizing this issue/constraint/parameter of usage somewhat still in its entirety.

This is a MINI with a 36mm hose attached. The 90-degree fitting is removed and the hose must exit the hose garage straight up. This prevents stacking Systainers on top.

This is a CT 26, also with a 36mm hose attached. It attaches to the front of the unit and leaves the Sys-Dock clear on the hose garage so stacking Systainers works fine.

I hope that helps.

Tom

EDIT:
The Y-adapter also doesn't fit in the MINI/MIDI because of interference with the hose garage.

Well I'll be darned!  [eek] I never even noticed that about how where the hose attaches on the MINI/MIDI's versus the other CT's.  [embarassed] Thanks Tom!  [smile]
