I just bought the FastFix Depth Stop chuck DD-CD which came with a bit in it, I tried to take the bit out of it, but I can't, is there a special way to take the bit out , is it suppose to be hard to take out the bit.

The magnetic is so strong I don't know how to change the bits

thanks

Isn't there some sort of sleeve or ring you have to push back? I would think the bit is locked in there just like in any other locking bit holder.

Have you tried removing the cone nose piece and then looking to see if there is a collar of some type below that can be moved downwards to release the bit?  I don't have that accessorie, but my suggestions are based on similar.

The magnetic is very strong, I am tempted to use pliers to pull the bit out.

Otherwise, I give up.

Cheers.

The silver tip, the part that acts as the stop, will come off.  Twist the silver tip 90 degrees and pull it out, then you'll be able to get a much better grip on the Phillips tip.

Yes, Brice is correct that the silver end unscrews (twists) off easily to gain access.  On mine, the bit comes out very easily.  However, I looked into the hex recess with the bit removed and noticed metal debris leftover from the manufacturing process.  When I first got my C12 I also noticed the same debris in it too.  So, do check and clean out as needed.

I concur with Corwin.  Mine is relatively easy to pull the Phillips bit if needed.  Regular cleaning is essential to keep the gunk from locking the tip in there after a bunch of usage.

Well, those magnets in the Festool bits are strong. A bit too strong for my taste. I had a problem with my extra long bit holder, the bit also wouldn't come out. Sometimes had to use a some pliers to get the bit out. At one point, the entire magnet came with it. Ugh!

I've had the magnet come loose from my Centrotec bit holder as well. I guess that if it does it again I could fix it with a strong adhesive.
