I seem to be having a problem with adjusting the Festool QF1400 router with the micro adjuster.  I don't see the router move up or down as I turn the adjustment wheel despite following the instructions.  Can someone go through the process of making micro adjustments with this router. Thanks.

Clogger,

The fine adjustment wheel on the OF1400 doesn't move the router up or down - it's not designed to. It only moves the depth setting bar, which is used in conjunction with the turret stop.

Unfortunately I don't have time right now to go through the depth setting process, but I will do later if no one else chimes in (which I'm sure they will!).

You likely figured it out by now based on Jonny's description.  If not, here's how to see it in action.

Flip the depth stop lock into the unlocked position.  This is located by the depth stop rod with the measurements.

Plunge the router to some depth and lock it.

The depth stop rod is sitting on a turret stop (one of the 3 screws in a carousel).  Lock the depth stop lock.

Now, easiest way to see how that micro-adjuster works is to release the plunge lock.  Watch the end of the depth stop rod while spinning the micro-adjuster.  You'll see it ever so slowly move one way or another.  The idea is that you adjust the depth stop rod by micro adjusting rather than micro-adjusting the position of the entire plunged router.

Paul nailed the procedure but I would add that when you lock the depth rod you should put a little down pressure on it as there is a little spring pressure and end play to overcome.
