Hepa or Non Hepa

Hi guys, thanks for great info on this site..

I'm in process of deciding on first Festool purchase. I'm doing my best to get best information to make right purchase first time.  I'm a remodeler and I do install kitchens and cabinetry in bathrooms.

I know I want Kapex with dust extractor and plunge saw TS 55 REQ as soon as they come back to market. Sometimes I deal with drywall and sanding in my projects. Drywall sander is not on my list for now..  But who knows in the future it might be..

My question is about dust extractor. I am thinking about CT 36 AC ....

1. That should work with Kapex and Planex (should I eventually get it)
2. Will that work with TS 55 Req or will I need smaller hose (27mm)?
3. Can you tell difference between HEPA and Non HEPA when working? I was just wondering what practical difference is and if there is something I should know before buying Non-Hepa dust extractor.

Thanks for your help and suggestions..

I would probably suggest that you get the CT 36 AC (AutoClean) is you're planning to do rooms with the Planex, basically anything more than small patch jobs. The CT 36 AC has a "high performance" filter that has filtration close to that of HEPA. The exception for my recommendation would be if you work with lead paint and RRP regulations, which require HEPA.

You can use the CT 36 AC stock hose with the TS and Kapex. No additional hose required.

The difference between the HEPA and high performance filters will be negligible from the user's perspective. We're talking tenths of a micron in size difference between filtration levels.

It is not recommended to use the optional HEPA filter with the CT 36 AC.
