Hi -
Got to use my RO90 for the first time this weekend....both kids were moving, and after humping furniture and boxes Friday and Sat had some time to take a stab at refinishing my a coffee table of my Son's that was in pretty tough shape.
The heresy part - it was an Ikea table. I figured that refinishing a veneered pine piece would be a good way to practise with a new sander....
Of course - it worked fabulously! I started off with 220 granat, to ensure I wouldn't inadvertently work through the veneer - but after about 20 minutes, felt confident enough in using the tool that I could safely go to 80 grit for most of the stripping. Best of all - no dust mask... I am sensitized to wood dust, and always wear a mask.
The only "negative" I could find is that I found the dust extractor hose had a tendency to catch a bit on the edge of the MFT.... creating a bit of drag at odd times. Guess there's a boom arm in my future!
No pics - I don't have the nerve to post pictures of myself refinishing termite-barf furniture for posterity !! ;D
Cheers -
