Question

Bought this on ebay as a 36e ac... But can't find any details on the machine and I've googled pics of the same model and this looks to have one less dial

Well of course, it's a Festool, not a Hoover  [wink] - but it looks more like a CTL 26 AC (rather than a 36).  The only significant difference in the volume of the dust container - 26 litres vs 36.  The label is missing from the front, but there should be another one at the back hidden behind where the cord wraps round the stowage.  I see your lead is on the floor, so maybe it is also missing the stowage bracket?

Yes, the front sticker and serial number sticker has bred removed by the looks of it, I'm covered by ebay, but I'm just trying to confirm my suspicions are right that this isn't what was described.

Is there any other way to tell?

Looks like a 26 ac, just read the 26 is 540mm high and the 36 is 596mm high.

Check out that link I posted - it has pictures and dimensions of them all.  I guess you might feel slightly 'seen off' if it was advertised as a 36 - but it may not be worth sending it back.  This is for comparison - the 36 is just taller:

We can tell you exactly which one it is, if you give us better pictures from different angles. Need to see the height of the vac and the front panel knobs in detail.

If the labels have been removed you can be pretty sure you've been ripped off as they've knowingly sold you a cheaper model than advertised.

Ya, know - could be there's no sticker on the front because the hose garage is new.  They don't come with stickers.  [sad]

There is a big change indeed that it is stolen. But when the buyer seems legit there is also a change that it is no problem at all.

I don't know where the 96% comes from.

[member=65572]Sjhall[/member] you may want the police to look for any hidden markings from the previous owner(s), and receiving stolen goods is a crime in some countries... So they can advise what to do.
The seller also now has your address.
Hopefully there is an underfed Rottweiler ready to welcome them.

It does look like a CT36 and appears to be the correct height.
Some versions of the 36 have more or less controls on the front panel.

Here is a picture of a UK 240v CT36 with less control knobs on than yours.

I would be more concerned about whether the thing is actually working at all and sucking anything up..........considering how much dust and sawdust is all over the machine and the floor.....!!.,!.??  [eek]  [eek]

Having seen the extra pictures I can confirm it is the  CT 36 E AC (or CTL 36 E AC in Europe).

Still gotta wonder why the stickers are missing. Maybe it is just that parts are replaced because they were broken. And maybe not, but there is really no way to find out as far as I know. The black part can break easily, but the grey part not.

Googling for pictures of Festool tools is of little use since even Festool themselves can show the wrong pictures on their website. The CT 36 E AC has 3 knobs as shown here. There is a model with a 4th green knob, but that's the more expensive CTM 36 E AC model which has an extra air flow sensor, but is not sold in the USA.

I didn't say the picture I posted was a CT36 A.C.....! I was showing the fact that certain CT36 models had different control knobs on the front. If you look at the pictures the OP has now posted, you can see the A.C. controls on the front of his machine.

My mistake.  The flow of the thread makes it confusing.

Can anyone shed light on why the the 36e ac  has an additional green dial on in the top position that the 26 model does not ?  New flow warning feature ?

I think this is sjhall's orig. question that geoff elaborated on with his pics of both units.

Its the M model where you have to tell the CT what size hose you are using.
