Any one seen or used one?!   I like it! thinking about it!  Go nicely with my Souber! lol  The only thing I dont like which is actually very important as its not adjustable.  If your hinge is longer say 4 inch that dont mater you can just like a chicel move it along BUT if a hinge is deep or thicker then der is nothing you can do about it looking at it.  BUT on the other hand even if it the hinge was deep or thicker atleast this tool has giving you a good head start and it very easy to make it  deeper and wider if needed after.   Wa you lot think?!?!?!

JMB you do surprise me I thought you had more class  [eek] [laughing] [laughing] [laughing]

These things have been around for ages and look like a complete cowboy tool to me. The way it chops out the whole hinge in one whack it cant be very tidy, it must muller the door especially hollow core doors.

Dont fall for it man, its a gimik & not a very good one £99 squid, they must be having a jiraf.  I mostly use ball bearing hinges & they vary from 99mm to 102mm so this would be useless.

You are honored, you got my 1000th post  [smile]

Somebody, somewhere uses it and gets good results. It is a very dedicated tool for a guy that is doing thousands a year of the exact same door, exact same hinges, that work with the jig. I have tools and jigs that many can't use, but I can, it takes a certain knack.

I think it "could" be useful in certain instances.

Well looking at the video the guy who invented it seems to get a decent result but the video needs to b higher res so I can look closer at the result.

Too bad.  I was hoping you would be able to view it in high resolution and 3-D.

I had seen it and was keen on getting one. I hate fitting hinges. Last summer I built some clothes lockers for a Spa - over 90 small stainless steel hinges all set in with a chisel. Frames out of larch, doors waterproof MDF. I ended up cutting for the hinges on the doors with the table saw, but the whole procedure was tedious. My slogan has always been 'the must be a better way' hence my love of Festool.
I have just bought a Lie Nielsen hinge routing planer (can't remember the real name). Haven't tried it yet but anything has got to be better than a chisel and a mallet. (even a nice Sorby one or something)
The best thing I have come across are the Lamelo hinges that you set with the biscuit jointer. Awesomely easy ( if you'll excuse the non English) trouble is the hinge are Swiss prices.

Totally agree! That's how I think all the time. I can do doors fine with hammer and chisel but always looking for a easy and quicker way with no hassle!
