HKC Release Dtae Stateside?

Nice alternative to traditional saws. Question is, how much dirt does this generate? It seems quite a bit dirtier than the TS  55.

Good point. Itso probably because it doesn't completely, or mostly enclose the blade. It's more of a traditional circular saw in that regard. The TS encloses the blade thus cutting down on saw dust.

That's my observation at least.

If you are up in the rafters, or in the basement with some 200 day "dry board" does it really matter?  It is a site saw, mainly outdoors, kind of a primadonna saw. That being said, with my new house venture, would love to have this in my Arsenal.

Cheers. Bryan.

Festool USA instagram posted a new US road show picture.  You can see an HK and HKC being demoed in the background!

It was also demo'ed at JLC in Providence last month and appears in the 2016 catalog.  [wink]

No HK or HKC in the pdf version.  I am very curious about the pricing.

Pricing hasn't been announced yet -- and last I heard still hadn't been finalized -- but we're really trying to keep it at a level that people will feel good about.

I had to smile when I read that. In other words, what we can get away with and still sell it. No offence intended here. Goods intended for consumer use are priced that way. From cars to toothpicks. It is just that I had not heard it put quite in those words  before. :-)

Cheers,  Peter

I am seeing HK/HKC videos on Facebook. Festool is starting to prime the pump.

I repeat my offer to do a shed building video with Festool products if I can get the HKC early.

Of course I'm here in the U.S (NYC to be exact) & I was literally a day away from pulling the trigger on my 1st Festool, the TSC-55 but now the HKC comes along.  [eek]

It certainly seems that for the most part the HKC can do most everything the TSC does so what does an amateur brand new DIY'er like me do to figure out whether I wait for the HKC or just buy the TSC.

Decisions, decisions. I gotta say I'm leaning toward the HKC now but I was really hoping to get something soon. Ugh. 1st World problems [big grin]

If you plan on working with sheet goods the TS is a better option and cleaner cut.  If you are going to be working with solid lumber and construction tasks then the HK saw would be better suited.

Which people are we talking about, management or customers?  [poke]

Ideally, everyone. [big grin] But I was specifically talking about customers.

Just to set expectations, pricing probably won't be announced until the second half of the summer.

I don't know about everyone else but I'd feel great with it priced at around $50  [big grin]

Seriously though I suspect this will sell well to those of us who like to frame as if we are building the proverbial piano. I had considered one from Mafell but working with one dealer over 3,000 miles away didn't thrill me at all.
