Got my TS 55REQ this afternoon.  Ordered it from Festool-Online, and got it in three days on FedEx ground.  Followed the instructions and got it all set up.  Then I ran a couple test cuts. Oh man, it's sweet.  I'm 69. Been making furniture, cabinets and trim work for 46 years, and I feel like a kid for a new tool.  Wish I hadn't been so stingy with my money. I've already watched most of the Youtube videos.  I'll be looking for jigs to help me be a good user.
Thanks for listening.  Look forward to visiting with all you folks.

Well, I am holding on to my wallet for a little while.  My next tool will be the Dust Extractor and hose.  In the meantime, I'll use my shop vac.  Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can do for the a hose?  Things don't fit anymore.

Hi,

  Welcome to the forum!  [smile]

Well if you continue down the Festool road and get a router or planer , then you will eventually want the D36 hose. Which will also fit the track saw. The D27 hose comes with the vac , so if you get the D36 hose now to use with your shop vac (the vac end will fit a standard US shop vac) you will have both sizes when you need them later and a perfect fit for the saw now.

Mike, welcome to FOG. I got my TS 55 last week and I've been just as amazed as you are. When it's hooked up to my CT saw dust is a thing of the past. A word of warning. I'm not sure how it happens but it does happens as sure as night follows day, the CT is next, then a sander or two, maybe a router, or the Domino. It's called the slippery slope and it has happened to many of us. Enjoy your new saw.

Mike,  Welcome to the FOG!  Reading a post like yours reminds of what I experienced many years ago.  Be safe and enjoy!  If we can help you in any way, on the forum or privately to Seth or me, please reach out!

Welcome to the forum and congratulations. To muddle through with the shop vac, you could purchase the fein step adapter:https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00K74NN9E/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_awd_xD51wbYYNDPTJ

Alternatively, rockler just started marketing a hose that supposedly works with mm sized dystports, including festool. I forget the name, but it was featured in a recent catalog.

Welcome to the FOG, Mike.  Anything that makes you feel like a kid at 69 is well worth the price!  [big grin]

For connecting your TS 55 REQ to your shop vac, I believe Ed was referring to Rocklers universal small port hose kit, which you will find here:http://www.rockler.com/dust-right-universal-small-port-hose-kit
I have this hose kit and it works great with my TS 55 REQ.
By the way, if you do buy a CT dust extractor, your existing 2 1/2" shop vac hose will fit the Festool CT, so you can save some cash and skip the purchase of the 36 mm hose.

Best of luck...

Congratulations on the new track saw. This was also my first Festool purchase, and is very impressive.

You will no doubt add more systainers to your collection.

The TS seems to be the gateway drug. It's what got me a few years back.

[welcome] to the FOG!
