I just had a 3/4” wood floor installed. The installer left a 3/8” gap all around and the wood has expanded beyond that and some of the floor is buckling. Currently we are drying to reduce the wood moisture with a high power dehumidifier.

I am going to need to cut back the floor and was wondering how close to the wall I can get with a TSC 55 REB 36V cordless track saw. I have the old TS 55 with a bulging dust collector outlet.

Thank you

Looks like a hair over 5/16" from the wall to the wall side of the blade. Add the thickness of your blade for max width. And of course you'll need to remove the splinter guard and knob. Hope this helps.

Just a silly question, but if the floor is brand new, why not let the installer handle it? Should have some warranty, right?

I can understand you don't need the hassle, but if you're gonna mess with it now yourself and a problem arises again later on with the floor, the installer probably won't see it as warranty work anymore.

But if you're gonna do it yourself, I bet you can get even closer to the wall if you remove the dust cover.

I am doing a major remodel of my house and doing around 50% of the work myself. My kitchen cabinets are finally here after a 10 week waits and I would like to instal them. My floor contractors is not sure when he can come back and fix the problem. I would only cut in the kitchen around the island and one wall so I can install my cabinets. The major problem is in the living room and dining room, that I will leave to him. I might let him use track saw:)
