Hey guys,
So Home Depot had a contractor lunch yesterday and a Azek rep was present. He admitted that he was not a carpenter or handyman and said "anybody can bend azek" with a piece laying on a table that he bent himself.
He was handing out a piece of paper that had photo's of "how to" bend Azek. It looked very simple.
We have been sending our radius work to a shop, but it has been taking two weeks plus to get a finished product back to install. So we thought we would give it a shot. It didn't look that hard with the info the Azek rep was passing out.
So, with a torpedo heater and some 8" duct we attempted to heat up a 1x6x12' piece of Azek for a good size arch.
Long story shot....2 HOURS later......NOTHING heated up and bent and once again....sending out measurement to a shop to have the Azek bent for us.
After searching other sites, we had the same problem with getting the Azek plyable to bend. I even read about other guys buying the heating blankets that Azek sells that did not work for them.
So how do you guys go about heating up your Azek for your window and door arches?
Thanks guys!
Eric
