How do you embed a Youtube video?

Tried copying and pasting the embed code but it didn't work. I know it must be fairly easy but any tips would help.

Just use the url that's in the navigation bar of your browser.

I believe Shane had made a comment about having problems with embedding videos now that Google took over YouTube and made changes.

It seems to be working the same as it used to, but you need to use the long link.

Go to the movie you wish to embed.  Under the video select the SHARE button.  The under that select the OPTIONS button.  Select the LONG LINK button.  Now the url in the box will have changed.  Copy that.

Then come back here to post.  Where you want to post in your reply select the hyperlink icon (little blue world) and paste your link.  That's all.

Wow, talk about making things complicated. That long link is the same link as the one that is displayed in your browser's navigation bar.  Just copy and paste it into a post on the FOG and you're done.

I think that the url displayed may be different on different viewers.  That is why I showed the long approach.  I know that I have had to edit several posts here because a shorter link was used. When I did it the way that I show the videos became viewable.  For some reason the cut and paste from the browser was not working for the OP.

I guess there are different ways.

Thanks, guys! I tried the embed code first and that didn't work, so I used the shortened URL from YouTube. I just edited the post and substituted the link from the browser and it works fine now.
