How good are festool extractors

Which in turn looks very similar to the Festool srm 45!!! but at 1/4 price.Sorry can'''t send image as I'm rubbish on a computer but it's on Festool.fr.

Dave, Festool doesn't make all of its own products and they sometimes sell their products to other companies to be sold under another label. I heard somewhere the Festool and Makita rails are made at the same factory (I believe by Festool but they might be made by someone else).

Thanks Craig,I'll have to get someone to show me how to do that ???

I just figured it out last nite

1st find a pic you want to post.
1.1 if it is on the web right click and choose  (copy image location)
1.2 if it is not on the web ............sorry i cant help

2  go to your post  screen, (where i am typing now)
in the bottom row of buttons, the second from the left is a picture  icon, click it  "/img]"  should coome up where your cursor is select the middle of it and"[img]  right here   /img]"  paste

that is it

To be fair I think the spec might be different like continuous motor on the Festool and 3 year guarantee etc.I even found the makita in the uk at under ?600 that makes 1737E or 1198 USD difference :o,I'd like someone to explain that!!!! I know Festool are good quality, backup, guarantee, robust etc but if that's the same machine.......Thanks for the link Dave I need it. :-[

Yes, that's how it works. If you have a picture that isn't on the web already you can upload that picture to the FOG gallery. There is a temporary album where any member can upload a picture then the process is the same, insert the location in between the image tags.

Something I should point out about using pictures you find on the web, most pictures are copyright protected and not to be used without permission. Furthermore, posting the picture on the forum in this manner is using the bandwidth of the site the picture is hosted on. This is stealing their bandwidth, not a good idea.

Interesting, I'd bet that Alto makes both the Makita and Festool versions.  Both look identical but for color to th Alto, and Alto specializes in vacs.

Of course they do.

Interesting, looks like you can get a comparable M-Class spec'd Attix 5 in Australia for significantly less than the cost of an SRM-45. Sure the Makita 447 is cheaper here but only the L-class unit is available. Maybe just paint it green...  ;)

Regardless though, it at least means the filters/bags are around for a lot less.
