How is a kapex cut supposed to look?

I am wondering this because i got my standard blade "sharpened" last summer, after working at least 1-2 years without sharpening (from when i bough it used)
It was still cutting cleanly, but i supposed it would be good for the machine to get it sharpened.
Well the result is that the cut now is relatively rough as if you were cutting with a 24T ripping blade, while before that it used to make impressively clean cuts where it left the end grain completely closed, shiny and glass smooth as if it had been polished.

So i am wondering did the sharpening service mess up my blade? Or was it so dull before that it polished the wood?

i replaced the blade on my dw718 a while back and got perfectly smooth glass like cuts. the kapex should do that and more

I have had glass smooth cuts with the stock blade...it sounds like something it off with the sharpening.

I get glass smooth cuts even with resharpened blades.. So i
think your sharpening service messed up..

... So this sharpening service - sounds like they're not that impressive.

Was it the first time you used them? Know anyone else that does?

I'll only use a sharpening service recommended to me by someone I trust

I have sent out a Kapex blade for sharpening, and it can back sharp(!)
But they didn't center it correctly on their arbor and the cut is out of round 1/32+.
Maybe this could be your problem.
Good luck

Thanks for the answers, i seems clear that they messed up. I only used that service once (it's actually my festool dealers) because during the summer my usual place was closed.
