How strong are Systainer hinges?

I only own the Sys tool box so far and I'm considering getting some Sys3 boxes but I'm wondering how strong the hinges are.

I'm wondering if the lid of a Sys3 can be opened  and support the weight of a Systainer toolbox attached or would that cause the hing to break if you don't support it?

All the videos I see people till the lid back while supporting it with their hand. I'm assuming the hinges aren't strong enough?

I haven't touched a Sys3, so can't comment on those.

But I do at times open systainers with other systainers attached on top of them.  Clearly you can't have a lot of up there or things type over.  I don't think I would go leaving by hanging weight off one that is open.  But again, most the time you have stability issues first, or the contents of the upper systainer doesn't like to be on it's side.

Thew bigger issue is gravity - unless you will have the bottom screwed somewhere, the whole stack will tend to fall backwards.

Also, heavily depends on your definition of "full". It can be 10 pounds or 50 pounds ... the overhang distance etc.

I plan on having them attached to the Sys cart and nothing to heavy maybe a few hand tools or maybe a sys3 organizer full of screws.

I think if you plan on opening a systainer in the middle of the stack you should just plan to hold the top with one and while retrieving contents with the other. The thickness of the back of the top is not up to the task of supporting a stack.

Having LBoxxes too, just having the ability to open in the stack to grab something is so incredibly useful that not being able to let it hang open is not a detraction to me.
