How to capture Systainer

I am building a cabinet along the wall and one of the things I am doing is adding a few Systainers. Both the old and new style.

I have slide out trays made of 1/2" MDO plywood and need to add something to keep the systainer centered and not slide around.

The obvious thing is to just rip down some 1/2 x 1/2 wood and brad nail it to the plywood. But thought I would ask and see if there is a better idea than this.  I realize its not rocket science but might be missing something. So better ask the Festool Junkies.

I think a couple of "positioners" place where the lower rear clip mouldings step in would probably be all you need. You could even use small domino tenons so that you could take them our to re-purpose the drawer. It doesn't need much.

Rich.  Quick thought maybe. Domino in each rear corner will do,the job. On another note I really like the idea you have presented for the Systainers for sure. I might need to copy your thought on this in my new shop

I think dowels would work well. Or might just rip down scrap maple left over and use that.

I looked at doing something under the systainer but they are all different. So will just keep to the outsides.

If you were going that way I'd suggest two dabs of silicone sealant !  [big grin]

Brass corners.

Was at Menards getting some drawer handles and saw these.

I used a domino in the two rear corners. Works great for the Classic Systainer. For the T-loc you need to trim the Domino down.

So I switched to a simple wooden block at the rear of the Systainer, works for both classic and T-loc systainers. Plus they are easy to make out of scrap.

It only takes two dominos to keep the sys from moving in any direction

I think about the only part common to all the Systainers is the latch.  I like the simple block on the back but I think the drawer type systainers dont have the same notch.  I know that was different in some way.

I already did the brass corner thing above.

But there are a couple wood options posted I like better.  But mine is working so don't plan to change it.

Not at all, I used the 5mm domino's and got about 2mm play the way I put them. It fits a bit tighter if you place the domino in between the tabs.
