Hello Everyone!

Anyway.. onto our new product, the UJK Technology Dog Rail Clip (Pair).

These simple looking spring clips firmly secure a Festool guide rail to Parf Dogs or other 20mm diameter dogs. The whole point of using an MFT table and Parf Dogs is to achieve complete accuracy. Even though guide rails have anti-slip strips on their undersides, in the presence of wood dust there is always the possibility the ‘anti-slipperiness’ may not be as sticky as intended. If the rail moves fractionally during the cut, the finished piece will not be as accurate as you wish. The body of the Dog Rail Clip fits into your rail’s T-slot. Slide the Dog Rail Clip into position, then clip the spring around the 20mm bench dogs ensuring the rail is tight against the dogs and guarantees a precise result every time. Supplied as a pack of 2, UJK Technology Dog Rail Clips are designed and made in the UK. International delivery available.

Again, if you want further information, including pictures, or to order then please click this link, UJK Technology Dog Rail Clips.

We would of course welcome any feedback or questions so please get in touch.

Many thanks for reading.

These will be welcome in my shop!

FYI, Axminster's knock-off screw type rail clamps fit Festool rails and work at least as well at about half the cost of the Festool/Bessy clamps.

I looked at the Axminster site and it says that when you submit an international order they will get back to you within a day with shipping info and costs.

Maybe some enterprising US/Canadian company could do a bulk order and make these items available from a more local site.

I have used Axminster several times and have found their response time to an international price & ship quote to be extremely timely. Their customer service is very good.
But I do agree with having a local source of some of their product line on this side of the pond, however that might prove to be not in their best interest.

Yep, I would definitely love a set or two of these. I use my homemade MFT in this manner all the time for crosscuts and these would be a great help.

I ordered a pair the day they made this post. Submitted order and within 1 hour I had the response back detailing the shipping charges. The email included a special PayPal link to use. The total cost including shipping in US was just a little north of $15. This was my first time to order from them. Very easy!

I, for one, would appreciate some user feedback concerning these rail clips. Are any of the folks who purchased them willing to post an update? If so, thanks, in advance.

They do exactly what they're supposed to...hold the rail firmly to the Parf dogs.  I wonder over time whether the springiness of the clips will fatigue, but so far they are working well.  They are tight enough that you can actually elevate the rail on the dogs to slide a workpiece in and out from under the rail.

Note that Hans has said TSO will offer these clips in the USA shortly.

[member=13462]live4ever[/member] Are Parf Dogs magnetic? Some stainless steels are magnetic, 416, for example. Strong magnet instead of clips might work better.

That would be great.

I thought that maybe Lee Valley would get these too since they sell the PGS in the USA.

Just tested my Parf dogs...not magnetic.  Interesting application though if someone wanted to develop it using magnetic dogs and matching magnetic rail clips ...might end up being too expensive though.

I use 416 stainless rods as tall bench dogs. A strong magnet placed inside the t-slot should hold the rail well. I need to test that theory.

[member=13462]live4ever[/member] is correct - we're just waiting for our Tall Dogs to get through anodizing so we can put both items on our site to ship from stock. Spring Life is not an issue as you will see when we get a video up on the site and explain its use - as noted above - and why the spring life will not be an issue - primarily very low extension  and resulting low cycle fatigue. The trick is to slip the Clip OVER the Dog and not attempt to snap it on. To make it even easier our Tall Dogs include a short lead-in taper on top.
We'll explain also why this is better than a rare earth magnet.

Darned, - wish I had thought of that first  [wink]

I wish Lee Valley in Canada would stock these.  Axminister will sell these to Canada for $15 CDN but the shipping is $27.  TSO wants $15 US plus $76 US to ship to Canada.  Might have to figure our how to make my own as this is ridiculous.

The UJK Dog Rail Clips have turned out to be a very popular item - hey, what's not to like?
Shipping is always a factor which is why we are expanding our dealer network continuously.  Some in the US do already.
If you like we can send it via US Postal service under our updated shipping options cost should be far less

Just Checked the price at Ultimate Tools. $21 plus $20 Shipping.  I agree its funny TSO is the name they are being sold under.

Just an update.  I contacted Lee Valley and they special ordered these for me at $11.00/set.  Took almost 4 months to get, but I am very happy to have them now.  I expect they will show up as a stock item at some point.
