I made my daughter a little desk for her room so she could do her 'virtual' school work. I wanted to make her some 18mm thick  stretchers, but do not own a table saw, joiner, or thickness planer. I typically use baltic birch ply, but am currently out - so I needed to improvise and cut some pieces to laminate from some construction pine I had laying around (it's a kids desk for a 9 year old - she'll be fine)!! I decided to make a quick video on how to cut thin strips on the MFT3. I like doing my cuts this way, as I don't have to account for the thickness of the blade as the cut piece is under the guide rail, as opposed to being off to the right of the splinter guard.

Looks good to me.  It's nice you are taking care of the needs of your daughter.
