How would you bandsaw this curved object (and why)?

A curved dish-like object is to be cut out from a 1-1/2" x 6" x 14" block. Would you go with method 1) or method 2)?

Method 1 - Cut out the shape B flat on the bandsaw, tape the cut-offs back, and then stand the block on its edge and saw out shape A.

Method 2 - Stand the block on its edge, cut out A, place the curved block concave side down on the bandsaw, and saw out shape B.

Or if you have another bandsaw approach.

Thanks.

Method 2 plus.

After cutting out A tape the face (convex waste piece) back in original position and if needed tape on strips (on the flat side) to keep the package stable (on the band saw table) as perimeter is cut away.

Thanks for your response.

I did choose the safer method #2 (though my initial idea was to try both), and the outcome on all 6 pieces was great. To provide added stability, I clamped two blanks together before making the cut.

Now with the profile done, I'll proceed to do the outside shape.
