How would you fix this?

Greetings all. I'm refinishing this table, pictured, which has a crack in one of the turnings (see below.)

What is the best way to go about filling in this crack so it matches the shape of the turning? The leg is about 2" in diameter and I'm going to repaint it so color is not a big issue I just want to reconstruct the shape accurately.

There's several types of filling epoxies.  Woodcraft sells one.  It's. Intended to sculpt on like clay.  You then cut/scrape/sand to get the desired shape.

Build new legs and aprons, lose the sawdust board & uses your tools. It will last longer & give you time in the shop. And the legs will burn nicely.

You can go to any home center and get bondo home solutions.  It uses a white hardener instead of red.  It works great for rebuilding wood.

I would probably do a little research of local woodshops, stair companies, wood turners and see if they could make a reproduction for you.  Cost shouldn't be crazy, it will take a bunch less time and effort and the repair will be much nicer.
